Vintage Plastic + Tin Clockwork New Gear Robot Wt Spark, Horikowa (S.H.) Japan. VGiB A nice vintage plastic clockwork New Gear Robot with silver plastic body and head, red legs and arms, black plastic feet, clear plastic cover over the lithographed tinplate chest plate and four yellow gears and white plastic ears, made by the Horikowa (S.H.) Co. in Japan in the 1960's or 70's with the original box. When wound using the built-in key, the Robot walks forward while the gears spin in the chest and sparks appear in the space between the gears. The robot is in good to very good working condition with some playwear and loss to the silver finish on the body and head, and missing one ear. It measures 8.25 inches tall by 5 inches across and 3 inches deep, and is marked with the Horikowa “S.H.” Trade Mark and “Made in Japan” on the rear of the lower body. Comes with a very good original box, also fully marked and nicely illustrated. A nice vintage wind-up toy that does not come up very often, especially in good working condition, and a great addition to a robot or space collection. Please see my other vintage toys listed.
