My Smile San Diego is the place to contact if you are looking to get cosmetic veneers for your teeth. Our dental team works with patients to achieve the most aesthetically pleasing smile possible through a variety of different techniques, and materials.
What Is A Dental Veneer?
A veneer is simply a tooth like covering that is placed over an existing tooth and bonded to it permanently to improve its appearance.
Veneers can be used to cover imperfections such as marks on teeth or stains, or simply to provide a smile makeover. We utilize them for many of our patients and the results can truly be amazing.
Why Consider Dental Veneers?
Veneers can resolve a variety of different cosmetic issues with teeth, including…
- Tooth discoloration
- Chipped, broken or worn down teeth
- Teeth that are misaligned or have gaps between them
What’s The Process?
During your first visit, your tooth will be reshaped to make room for the veneer’s added thickness. Excess enamel may be removed to do this, and if necessary a local anesthetic can be used. Once your tooth is prepared, our cosmetic dentists will make an impression, which your dental technician will use to make your veneer. We will make sure that it matches the color of your other teeth by using a shade guide so it looks completely natural.
During the next visit, we will show you the completed veneer to make sure it meets your satisfaction. We will then bond the veneer in place with a special adhesive of resin cement, so it remains fastened to your tooth.
We will do a follow up check with you in approximately a week after the initial bonding to make sure everything is perfect and that you’re happy with your new dental veneers.
